2011 LWCA Annual General Meeting Info

July 30, 2011 @ Tanglewood Marina - 10:00 AM

Motion to be presented: Water Study Funding

Preamble:

In the lake survey of 2010, water quality was identified as the first priority for the members of the Lake Weslemkoon Conservation Association. The Board believes that a single water study should proceed in August 2011, with particular emphasis on Coliform and e-coli. Nutrient loading will also be measured in the form of Phosphorous and Nitrogen testing as these play a significant role in a healthy environment for fish.

The last water study was in 2008. Though there is no set schedule for water studies, we believe it is time to look again to see if there are any downward trends.

The LWCA maintains a separate Environmental Fund which is supported by donations from Members and Friends of the Lake. At this time the Fund contains $11,910.

The Board believes that it is appropriate for this Fund to support water studies as needed. LWCA members control the fund and its uses and so the following:

MOTION:

That the membership support the expenditure of up to $3,000 from the Environmental Fund for the 2011 Water Quality Study.
